Safety as a top priority

At Affilips, safety is central. For years, consistent investments have been made in modern solutions that make the work environment safer. After previous optimizations on production line 1, it was now the turn of line 2.

Together with Schmersal (Aarschot) and Eleantis (Halen), a project was set up to elevate machine safety to a higher level.

From analysis to realization

The project began with an in-depth risk analysis by Schmersal. Based on that, Eleantis developed a concrete plan to then execute step by step. During the implementation, Affilips, Schmersal, and Eleantis maintained close contact to ensure quality and efficiency.

Smart safety solutions

Thanks to Eleantis' interventions, the safety of the production line is up to standard. Some of the notable improvements:

  • Installation of a modern safety PLC.
  • Upgrades of existing safety components.
  • Additional door contacts for maximum safety.
  • A split bar system for the different emergency stop functions.
  • Speed monitoring regarding the manual feeding of material.
  • Professional cable installation under the floor, neatly finished and maintenance-friendly.

Efficient completion

The preparations took place just before the collective leave at Affilips, while the execution occurred during the leave itself. This kept the impact on production minimal – an approach that perfectly illustrates how flexible Eleantis is in serving its customers.
